Walnuts in the News Author Steve Pratt, M.D. talked with producers about why
he named walnuts a "SuperFood."
SuperFoods Rx is based on a simple but profound premise: some foods are dramatically
better than others for our health and longevity. Sure, everyone knows that an apple
is a better snack than potato chips, but do you know that a daily handful of
walnuts or a bowl of blueberries can actually improve your well-being and longevity?

Health Research Update
The media spotlight continues
to shine on walnuts as a delicious, versatile nut that packs powerful health
benefits. During the California walnut harvest last fall, harvest stories appeared
in multiple regional newspapers. Walnut supporters and friends were delighted to
see walnuts as a featured story on "America's Heartland", a weekly public television
series that celebrates the people, places and processes of our nation's agriculture.
To experience the harvest, producers toured the orchards of a local grower in our
home town of Winters, CA.
Walnuts are one of the top known sources of Melatonin, a powerful antioxidant. Research
conducted at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio has proved walnuts
are a natural source of melatonin. For complete article please follow this link:
